Jack Jacob - Senior Pastor
Email Jack

Dr. Jack M. Jacob came to First Southern Baptist Church in September of 2007.  Since his arrival, he has contributed to a renewed sense of vision and ministry in the community.  God has used Pastor Jack to teach First Southern Baptist Church how to look out of its windows to see the mission field.

Pastor Jack has been pastoring for 13 years.  As a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, Pastor Jack surrendered to the call to leave the military and enter the ministry and pastored his first church, Huron Baptist Church, of Huron, South Dakota.  He pastored there from October 1997 to August 1999.  During this time, he also helped to start a church in Woonsocket, South Dakota.  He pastored this church from December 1997 to August 1999 while pastoring in Huron.

As both churches grew quickly, Pastor Jack realized a need for formal theological training.  He first enrolled in Distance Education through Andersonville Theological Seminary of Camilla, GA, where he completed a Master's of Ministry degree in 2000 and a Doctorate of Ministry degree in 2001.  He also enrolled and attended classes at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO where he received a Master's of Divinity with an emphasis in North American Church Planting in 2003.

Also in August of 1999, Pastor Jack became the pastor of Wanamaker Road Baptist Church in Topeka, KS.  He was there just over a year before conflicts within the church forced him to move across town to Seaman Baptist Church where he pastored for the next seven years from Oct 2000 to July of 2007.

Pastor Jack has a heart for people and theological education to make sure that he preaches the Bible accurately.  He has been a blessing to First Southern Baptist Church and to the community of Liberal and currently serves as the President of the Liberal Ministerial Alliance.

Kevin McCloud - Associate Pastor to Youth
Email Kevin

Rev. Kevin McCloud started as a "drug baby".  This means he was drug to church by his mother anytime the doors were open.  He even played Jesus in a church play, but it never made a difference in his life.  At the age of 13, his mother allowed him to make up his own mind about church, so he stopped attending altogether.

He was invted to church, with a friend, when he was sixteen years old and finally understood what Christ had done on the Cross for him personally.  He gave his life to Christ at a revival the summer before his junior year of high school.  Kevin finished high school and attended college at the University of Texas (go 'horns!).

In his fifth year of college, God called Kevin to become a youth minister.  He changed majors and attended college for two additional years in preparation for seminary.  Kevin graduated from the University of Texas in 1998 and went on to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2001.

From seminary, Kevin moved to Kennesaw, Georgia, to accept a position as the Senior High School Minister of Wildwood Baptist Church.  He spent two years in this position working with Senior High School students and assisting the Youth Pastor in overall youth ministry.

In 2003, Kevin married his wife, Jennifer, whom he had met while attending seminary.

In 2004, Kevin accepted a call to come to First Southern Baptist Church to be the Life Development Pastor over youth and children.

Kevin and Jennifer have been blessed with two wonderful children, Celia Grace, age 2, and Reagan Marie, age 6 months.

Kevin is energetic and motivating in his approach to helping our youth grow to be genuine disciples of Christ.  Kevin lives life with the youth and is helping them to see their place in the church, the world and in God's Kingdom.

In addition to his duties as our worship pastor,  Pastor Paul is also our resident chef and enjoys cooking for all of our church events.  He cooks our weekly Fellowship Supper on Wednesday nights and also helps to provide food for all of our dinner theaters, churchwide dinners and any other event that happens throughout the community.

Paul and his wife Natasha have one child, Samuel, and he is providing them with a major adjustment to family life.

Rhonda Isaacs - Preschool Director

Mrs. Rhonda Isaacs is our Preschool Director and has been for more years than most of us can count.  Coming from a background in public education, Rhonda has an excellent understanding of how to educate children, but also how to motivate children to want to learn.  Rhonda has a great heart for sharing Jesus with children with the aim towards seeing them love Jesus for a lifetime.

Rhonda does an excellent job of working with over 70 volunteers and paid workers.  She manages scheduling them so that they can work with our little ones and still be able to attend worship regularly.  In addition, she never tires of training them to be more effective as teachers.

Rhonda is married to Richard Isaacs and has three grown children and three grandchildren.
