Jack Jacob - Senior Pastor
E-mail Jack

Dr. Jack M. Jacob came to First Southern Baptist Church in September of 2007.  Since his arrival, he has contributed to a renewed sense of vision and ministry in the community.  God has used Pastor Jack to teach First Southern Baptist Church how to look out of its windows to see the mission field.

Pastor Jack has been pastoring for 13 years.  As a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, Pastor Jack surrendered to the call to leave the military and enter the ministry and pastored his first church, Huron Baptist Church, of Huron, South Dakota.  He pastored there from October 1997 to August 1999.  During this time, he also helped to start a church in Woonsocket, South Dakota.  He pastored this church from December 1997 to August 1999 while pastoring in Huron.

As both churches grew quickly, Pastor Jack realized a need for formal theological training.  He first enrolled in Distance Education through Andersonville Theological Seminary of Camilla, GA, where he completed a Master's of Ministry degree in 2000 and a Doctorate of Ministry degree in 2001.  He also enrolled and attended classes at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO where he received a Master's of Divinity with an emphasis in North American Church Planting in 2003.

Also in August of 1999, Pastor Jack became the pastor of Wanamaker Road Baptist Church in Topeka, KS.  He was there just over a year before conflicts within the church forced him to move across town to Seaman Baptist Church where he pastored for the next seven years from Oct 2000 to July of 2007.

Pastor Jack has a heart for people and theological education to make sure that he preaches the Bible accurately.  He has been a blessing to First Southern Baptist Church and to the community of Liberal and currently serves as the President of the Liberal Ministerial Alliance.
